Situated in Corrèze, Bort-les-Orgues is at the juncture of the Cantal and Puy de Dome departments. This special location makes it the most “Auvergne-like” of all small Limousin towns. Its geographic position enables you to stay at the Central Hotel while discovering a new destination every day.
Bort is nestled in the heart of a lush green valley protected by the Orgues, a series of volcanic structures resembling organ pipes which enclose and dominate the town. To the north you’ll discover its dam, the first hydroelectric installation on the Dordogne (1951) where you’ll enjoy fishing, swimming, water sports and other water-oriented activities.
From the Château de Val to the site of Saint Nazaire, you’ll journey through history as you pass through the gorges of the Dordogne and the Rhue, enjoying water sports, fishing for pike or savouring a flavourful omelette with chanterelle mushrooms. Be sure not to miss the treetop trails at Val Aventure.
